Christian Delafield first studied woodworking in 1995 at the School of Wooden Boat Building in Port Townsend, Northwest of Seattle, Washington State, where he attained a 1st Class Diploma in Traditional Wooden Boat Construction.

Following his studies in the United States he went on to receive a BA Honours in Industrial Design and Technology from Loughborough University where he graduated in 1999. 

In 2005 he returned to the United States to study cabinetry at the Centre for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. Upon his return he started making bespoke fine-furniture whilst occasionally deviating to spend time working in carpentry & joinery on building-sites in central London and Southern France where he lived seasonally until 2014. It is the combination of these experiences in Woodwork – Design & Construction in the home and elsewhere that has led his business to where it is today.
