Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a kitchen normally cost?

How long is a piece of string? That’s not very helpful however our price plan and guide should hopefully make things easier for you. Clink on the link to find out more:

What are the kitchens made of?

To be honest we would make your kitchen out of horse manure if it were what you wanted and entirely feasible. For our majority range kitchens we use a variety of EGGAR Boards that come in >60 different styles and finishes. This material has a multitude of advantages included stability and wipe-ability. It is also relatively simple to replace any damaged entities that may occur. More importantly there is nothing to suggest that we won’t be able to honour our 25 year guarantee. We do also make a lot of kitchen from Birch Ply – despite being marginally more expensive and very much party to a special request this material is environmentally sustainable and incredibly durable. It has a very Scandinavian feel to the material – don’t be misled by the term plywood – this stuff is fabulous quality.

What is the guarantee?

Our kitchens with the exception of hand painted paintwork come with a 25 year guarantee. Please ready the terms and conditions carefully – we can’t guarantee you against your child or pet alligator.

What is the best type of kitchen worktop?

This is subjective – Today there are such a multitude of worktops and that have very different pros and cons subject to their application. It's best to discuss your budget and preferences before making the decision for yourself.

How long will it take?

Once you have signed off your kitchen for manufacturing it is approximately 12 weeks before the kitchen arrives on-site. This is of course where a large kitchen is concerned. Depending on lead times and availability a small kitchen or utility may only take 3 weeks from signing off.

Who is making the kitchen / wardrobe?

At DELAFIELD we oversee the project from start to finish – more importantly the design work. This is the most important part of the whole process. Depending on the product that you have chosen from one of our catalogue kitchens – bespoke workshop or bespoke factory designs, will depend on whether the kitchen is manufactured here in Jersey or in the UK.

Where do our kitchens come from?

Essentially our kitchens don’t come from one individual source – They are a marriage of what we perceive to be the best materials and components on the market. We do take care to keep tabs on how far afield we are being forced to search. Generally we like to keep everything within Europe so as to minimise our carbon footprint.

When can you deliver?

We can deliver Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. We can deliver on Saturdays however there may be an additional charge. We will of course liaise with the site-foreman to ensure that we are delivered at the appropriate time. We can also delay lead times to better suit your build.

Who organises delivery?

We are entirely responsible for all our delivery. This alleviates any problems in transit that may occur. If it’s damaged then we fix it!
